Righteous Kill (2008)

A pair of veteran New York City police detectives are on the trail of a vigilante serial killer. After 30 years as partners in the pressure cooker environment of the NYPD, highly decorated Detectives David Fisk and Thomas Cowan should be ready for retirement, but aren't. Before they can hang up their badges, they are called in to investigate the murder of a notorious pimp, which appears to have ties to a case they solved years before. Like the original murder, the victim is a suspected criminal whose body is found accompanied by a four line poem justifying the killing. When additional crimes take place, it becomes clear the detectives are looking for a serial killer, one who targets criminals that have fallen through the cracks of the judicial system. His mission is to do what the cops can't do on their own--take the culprits off the streets for good. The similarities between the recent killings and their earlier case raise a nagging question: Did they put the wrong man behind bars?

American Teen (2008)

Documentary following the lives of four teenagers--a jock, the popular girl, the artsy girl and the geek--in one small town in Indiana through their senior year of high school. We see the insecurities, the cliques, the jealousies, the first loves and heartbreaks, and the struggle to make profound decisions about the future. Filming daily for ten months, filmmaker Nanette Burstein developed a deep understanding of her subjects. The result is a film that goes beyond the enduring stereotypes of high school to render complex young people trying to find their way into adulthood. Hannah Bailey is smart and beautiful, but a misfit in her high school. She is a liberal, atheist living in a traditional, Christian, conservative town and dreams of moving to California after graduation. Colin Clemens is the star of the high school basketball team--and in Indiana, basketball is everything. Colin is under enormous pressure this year playing not only to make his town, his school, and his father proud, but for a college scholarship. Jake Tusing is considered to be a nerd in high school. Though quite funny and charming one-on-one, he is painfully shy in group situations and crushed with self-doubt. In his senior year he vows that nothing will stand in the way of him finding a girlfriend. Megan Krizmanich is the student council Vice President and the youngest daughter of a prominent local surgeon, anxiously awaiting word from Notre Dame University admissions. Wealthy, pretty, smart and popular, she rules her high school--just don't get on her bad side. When Megan's peers challenge her authority, she can't help but take action, even if it means risking her future. Mitch Reinholdt is an attractive and charming Varsity basketball jock with a soft side. When he puts his social status on the line, avoiding his popular friends for dates with artsy Hannah Bailey, he strains to maintain his reputation while discovering a new side of himself.

Star Wars

Star Wars
By: Werner Frisch

George Lucas developed Star Wars as a space opera series of a fictional universe in the 1970s. The first film in the series was released by 20th Century Fox in the year 1977. Originally it was planned to release as a single but Lucas changed his mind and wanted to have more movies as a series. So it was decided that they would change the original movie as a fourth part in the series and develop the story ahead. After the three parts of sequel trilogy - Star Wars 4, 5, and 6 Lucas made the prequel trilogy Star Wars 1, 2, and 3.The original name of the star wars was then changed to Star Wars IV: A New Hope. It had two sequels ‘V - The Empire strikes back’ and ‘VI - Return of the Jedi’. 22 years after the release of the first film they came up with a prequel trilogy with the films named I – The Phantom Menace, II – Attack of the clones, III – Revenge of the Sith. Then others writers followed the trend and made films and TV serials based on star wars. Books, comics, games, etc too got inspired from Star Wars. The huge revenue collected by the Star Wars franchise is second only to that of the Harry Potter franchise. Each star wars movie begins with a similar opening text giving the details of the movie. Characters in Star Wars resembled humans but unlike many films set in alien space where the settings were kept clean and tidy; star wars intently chose grimy and dirty locations. The plot revolves around the story of the life of a boy ‘Anakin Skywalker’.Plot of Star Wars Movies.Prequel trilogy (Episodes I, II, III): The plot begins with the fall of Old Republic empire and the Jedi order by Sith lord Sidious. He becomes the new ruler of the Galactic empire. Anakin skywalk is a young jedi who marries queen Padme amidala. He is forced by Darth Sidious and the dark side of the force which transorms him into the Sith lord Darth Vader.Sequel trilogy (Episodes VI, V, VI): 19 years after the period from the IIIrd episode; A civil war has begun in the Galactic Empire. Luke Skywalker, the son of Anakin Skywalker (who is now Darth Vader), rises in rebellion against the Empire. In the end, the Emperor dies and Luke rescues his father. Some of the remarkable characters in star wars are Luke & Anakin Skywalker, Padme Amidala, Han Solo, Darth Vader, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Yoda, Princess Leia Organa Solo, Chewbacca, Boba Fett, Lando Calrissian, Qui-Gon Jinn and Jabba the Hutt
